Meet Lexie

Registered Clinical Counsellor (she/her)

With over a decade of experience in mental health, social services, and hospitality management, I bring a grounded, real-world perspective to my counselling practice. My career path has taken me from breweries and restaurants to remote lodges and tree planting camps—providing unique insight into the workplace stressors faced by people in a variety of industries. These include long and irregular hours, seasonal demands, physical and emotional exhaustion, and the challenges of working in close-knit, high-pressure environments often far from family and community.

This lived experience informs my counselling approach. I offer practical, compassionate support to a wide range of clients, including children and families navigating complex medical and mental health needs, new immigrants adjusting to life in Canada, and LGBTQQ2S+ folx.

Clinical Background

My background includes grief and loss counselling at a hospice, crisis intervention and suicide prevention, and developing mental health training programs tailored to the hospitality and tourism sector. Currently I facilitate support circles for those impacted by trauma and loss in the outdoors through the non-profit Mountain Muskox, and I provide clinical oversight for Mountain Community Critical Incident Stress Management, supporting peer-led crisis response in mountain communities.

Why Montira Mental Health?

This counselling practice grew out of my own experience managing remote lodges across BC, where I saw firsthand how isolation, seasonal pressures, and limited access to support contributed to burnout and stress among staff. Years of living, working, and adventuring in the Rockies, Selkirks, Purcells, and Coast Mountains shaped my connection to the outdoor community—and deepened my understanding of the unique mental health needs that come with working in hospitality and adventure tourism.

Today, I work to fill the gaps I once witnessed by providing specialized mental health support for those employed within hospitality, adventure tourism, and unique work environments through my mental health support services for employers. I also remain involved with organizations providing specialized crisis support for individuals in high-risk or unconventional outdoor environments.
